Here's how to add lists to a document in Linear
- Open Your Document and Position Cursor
Begin by opening the Linear document where you intend to add or format a list. Place your cursor at the exact location where you want the list to start, or where the text you wish to format is located.
- Select Text for List Formatting
If you are converting existing text, highlight all the lines you want to include in your list. If you are starting a new list, this step can be skipped as the cursor position is sufficient.
- Access List Formatting Options
After selecting text or positioning your cursor, a formatting toolbar will appear. Locate and click the 'List' icon, which typically looks like a bulleted list symbol, to open a dropdown menu.
- Choose Your Desired List Type
The dropdown menu presents three options: 'List' for standard bullet points, 'Ordered List' for numbered sequences, and 'Checklist' for interactive checkboxes. Select the option that best suits your document's needs.
- Verify the Applied List Format
Once you make your selection, the highlighted text or the new lines you type will automatically adopt the chosen list format. Review the document to ensure the list appears as intended.
