Here's how to add a user to groups in Confluence

  1. Access Administration Settings

    To begin, navigate to the Confluence administration area. Click the "Switch sites or apps" button, then select "Administration" from the menu to access the admin panel.

  2. Navigate to User Directory

    Once in the administration panel, locate the sidebar on the left. Click on "Directory" to expand its options, then select "Users" to view the list of all registered users.

  3. Select the Target User

    From the list of users displayed, identify and locate the specific user you wish to add to groups. This step ensures you are modifying the correct user's permissions.

  4. Initiate Group Addition

    Next to the chosen user's name, find and click the three dots icon in the "Actions" column. This action will open a dropdown menu with various options for managing the user. Select "Add to group" from this menu.

  5. Choose Desired Groups

    A dialog box titled "Add [User Name] to groups" will appear. Click the "Select" dropdown field within this dialog. From the list that appears, choose all the groups you want the user to be a member of.

    After selecting all the appropriate groups for the user, review your selections. To finalize the process and add the user to the chosen groups, click the "Add" button within the dialog box.
