Here's how to add a file to a folder in Slack

  1. Navigate to the Channel

First, open Slack and click on the specific channel in the left sidebar where the file you wish to add to a folder is located. This will display the channel's conversation and shared files.

  2. Locate the File and Open Options

Scroll through the channel's messages to find the file you want to organize. Once found, hover your mouse over the file to reveal the "More actions" (three-dot) icon, then click it.

  3. Select 'Add to folder'

A dropdown menu will appear with various file options. Click on "Add to folder" to proceed with organizing your file.

  4. Choose a Destination Folder

A submenu will display a list of existing folders, such as "Important Files", or an option to create a new one. Click on the folder where you want to place your file.

  5. Confirm File Movement

After selecting the folder, a small notification will briefly appear in the bottom right corner of your screen, confirming that the file has been successfully added to the chosen folder.
