Here's how to add a product family in Salesforce
- Access Salesforce Setup
To begin, click the gear icon located in the top right corner of your Salesforce interface. From the dropdown menu that appears, select "Setup" to navigate to the administrative settings.
- Navigate to Object Manager
Once in the Setup area, locate and click the "Object Manager" tab in the top navigation bar. This section allows you to manage all standard and custom objects within your Salesforce instance.
- Select the Product Object
In the Object Manager, scroll through the list of objects until you find "Product". Click on "Product" to view its details and related configurations.
- Go to Fields & Relationships
On the Product object's detail page, click "Fields & Relationships" from the left-hand sidebar. This will display all the fields associated with the Product object.
- Edit Product Family Picklist
Find and click on the "Product Family" field in the list. This will open the details page for the Product Family picklist. In the "Product Family Picklist Values" section, click the "New" button.
- Add and Save New Values
Enter each new product family name on a separate line in the text area provided. After adding all desired values, click the "Save" button to apply your changes.
- Verify Product Family Addition
After saving, you will be redirected back to the Product Family field details page. Confirm that your newly added product families are now listed under "Product Family Picklist Values."
