By default, pressing Enter in Microsoft Teams sends your message immediately. If you want to write a longer message with multiple lines, you need to use Shift+Enter to create line breaks. This guide shows you how.

Here's how to go to the next line in MS Teams

  1. Select a chat where you'd like to send a message
  2. Begin typing your message and press 'Shift+Enter' to go to the next line
  3. Finish writing your message
  4. Click 'Send' when you're done
  5. Your multiline message is now sent
