This guide will show you how to update the cover image, or thumbnail, for your Miro board. You can either select a specific area of your board or upload a custom image from your device.

Here's how to change a board thumbnail in Miro
- Access Board Settings
From your Miro dashboard, select the board you wish to modify. Once the board is open, locate and click the 'More options' icon (three dots) in the top bar, then hover over 'Board' and click 'Details' to open the board information panel.
- Open Thumbnail Selector
Within the board information panel, you will find an option to change the board's thumbnail. Click 'Change thumbnail' to proceed to the thumbnail selection dialog.
- Choose Board Area as Thumbnail
In the 'Select thumbnail' dialog, click 'Select board area'. You can then drag your mouse to define a specific section of your current board that you want to use as the thumbnail. Confirm your selection by clicking 'Apply as thumbnail'.
- Alternatively, Upload a Custom Image
If you prefer to use an image from your computer, click the 'Upload' button in the 'Select thumbnail' dialog. This will open a file browser, allowing you to select and upload a custom image.
- Confirm Thumbnail Update
After selecting a board area or uploading an image, the board thumbnail will be updated. A confirmation message will briefly appear, indicating that the thumbnail has been successfully changed.
