Here's how to add a boolean property to a component in Figma
- Select Your Component Object
First, select the component or object to which you want to add a Boolean property. You can do this by clicking on it directly on the canvas or by selecting its layer in the Layers panel on the left.
- Open the Add Property Menu
With your object selected, navigate to the right-hand Properties panel. Locate the 'Add property' section and click the plus (+) icon to open the property creation menu.
- Choose Boolean Property Type
From the 'Create new property' dropdown menu that appears, select 'Boolean'. This specifies that the new property will have a true/false or on/off state.
- Confirm Property Creation
A 'Create component property' modal will appear. You can optionally name your property and set its default value. Click the 'Create property' button to finalize and add the Boolean property.
- Verify the New Property
After clicking 'Create property', the modal will close. You can now see your newly added Boolean property listed under the 'Properties' section in the right-hand panel, ready for use.
