About Bokio
Bokio is one of the leading bookkeeping and banking platforms in the Nordics, loved by tens of thousands of small business owners across Sweden, Denmark, and the UK. Their mission is to make accounting self-serve: simple enough that any entrepreneur can handle their own books without hiring an accountant.
Opportunity
Bokio’s product offers a lot out of the gate: bookkeeping, banking, invoicing, tax reporting. For new customers, the challenge was knowing where to start. The growth team knew they needed to humanize the first experience, but live demos and phone calls weren’t scalable.
What users actually craved when opening the product was someone giving them a short introduction as to what this is. The team wanted to deliver that feeling at scale, without adding headcount.
“It was a goal of ours: let's humanize this product. We can call people, we can have live demos, but that's not scalable.”
Solution
Bokio embedded Saltfish video bubbles across their website and inside the product. On the pricing page, a short video from the team walks visitors through plans and answers common questions before they commit. Inside the product, video bubbles guide new users through their first actions with a low cognitive entry point.
Beyond video bubbles, the support and customer success teams started creating product demos. They upload them to the knowledge base and send them directly to customers over email whenever a question comes in. The growth team also embeds product demos on the website to help visitors explore the product before signing up.
Outcome
The pricing page video bubble drove an 11% relative uplift in commercial conversion, measured through a rigorous A/B test. New user activation improved meaningfully inside the product, turning a high-potential moment into a measurable win.
“Saltfish is amazing at drawing attention to something. This was a great way to really have a low cognitive entry point.”
Looking ahead
With onboarding and pricing covered, the Bokio team sees video as an end-to-end tool. New feature launches, customer education, and support are all areas where Saltfish is expanding inside the organization. The team is also exploring interactive sandboxes as the next step in letting prospects experience the product before signing up.
